PhysioYoga Classes
After a series of PhysioYoga classes the goal is to help you safely transition into a long-term yoga practice at home or perhaps across the hall at The Yoga Lounge.
PhysioYoga Classes
*COMING SOON - please ask for details*
Lisa plans to offer small PhysioYoga Classes allowing for plenty of individual modifications and hands-on corrections. These will be a useful alternative or addition to One on One Treatments.
An initial One on One Assessment is required prior to attending Therapeutic Yoga Classes. This allows Lisa the opportunity to connect with you and perform a comprehensive evaluation so that she will know how to safely individualize your poses in class.
The classes address posture, alignment and movement patterns through a carefully selected sequence of yoga poses. We use lots of props such as blankets, bolsters, blocks, yoga straps, therapy balls and sticks to assist with movement and support. This helps you to strengthen, lengthen and release, and can be a great way to learn how to break poor movement and postural habits that stop injuries and pain from fully resolving. There will also be a component of gentle, restorative yoga which helps to slow down your body and mind through specific poses and breath work. This promotes relaxation and can help lower your heart rate, blood pressure and stress thereby promoting healing and overall health. The classes also allow you to enjoy the social benefits of camaraderie and support that come from being part of a group.
